METHAMPHETAMINE DETOX

Methamphetamine is not physically addictive. However, the effects can be very psychologically addictive. Methamphetamine causes feelings of euphoria, high self-esteem, and increased sexual activity. However, large amounts can cause stroke, heart attack, and even death. Our methamphetamine detox treatment program will help you safely detox from meth while also learning how to avoid methamphetamine in the future.

Methamphetamine Detox

Withdrawal symptoms will begin shortly after ceasing methamphetamine use. These symptoms are rarely life-threatening, but are still unpleasant. A few symptoms include fatigue, depression, and ravenous appetite.

At the Drug Detox Center, we take methamphetamine detox very seriously. Although there is no medical detox needed, clients will still be monitored by doctors to make sure they remain calm and comfortable during the process. The doctors may prescribe non-addictive medication to ease withdrawal symptoms. The methamphetamine detox process will take a few days to a few weeks, depending on how frequently the drug was used. Most meth users will be agitated and restless at first, followed by intense sleepiness and hunger. At the Drug Detox Center, we are prepared to help all teens and adults who need methamphetamine detox.

The methamphetamine detox process is only the first step towards full recovery. After the detox has been completed, the client will feel physically better and will be ready to start treatment. We offer residential programs lasting 30 to 90 days. During the client’s methamphetamine detox treatment program, he or she will attend group therapies, recreational activities, and recovery meetings. Teens in our methamphetamine detox treatment program will have the opportunity to keep up with school at our on-site learning facility. The main goal of our treatment program is to help our patients to get better and to learn why they became addicted to methamphetamine. We will teach each patient the proper skills to stay clean for life.

We also provide family therapy during the client’s methamphetamine detox treatment program. We believe the family plays a huge rule in the addict’s recovery. We also feel that the entire family needs treatment for the destruction caused by the addict’s behavior. During family therapy, the family and the addict will meet with a counselor to discuss healthy means of solving problems and ways to be supportive of each other.
